
The Arts Learning Area creates a comfortable and supportive learning environment for all students, where you have room to move and develop a sense of independence as an individual. Arts teachers have specialist skills in the different subjects and are dedicated, respectful and put students first. Learning is achieved through enjoyment of the subject and initiative of individuals. The curriculum is comprised of a combination of practical and theory based work.
All Arts subjects encourage creativity, experimentation and exploration and can be studied in all year levels. Individual areas of study include:
- Visual Art (ATAR, Cert II and General)
- Sculpture
- Photography
- Printmaking
- Graphic Design (DIG)
- Pottery
- Dance
- Drama
- Music (ATAR and General)
- Media Production and Analysis.
Arts projects are influenced by contemporary ideas and the Arts Learning Area has extensive technological facilities which are available for all subjects and students. Our Adobe Suite of programs including Photoshop and Illustrator, are an integral part of developing skills to an industry standard and play an important part in the design process. In addition music software used for composing includes Logic Pro, Garageband, Ableton and Sibelius.
